Once you have completed your IBT Course and you have had you learner permit for more then 6 months you can apply ot take you motorcycle test. In order to pass any test you must first understand the test itself and what’s required of you on the day. There are a lot of urban myths about what’s required on the test. Things like…. “You have to do lot of extra observations” “You have to exaggerate everything” “You have to rider really slow”

All nonsense and all based on something that someone’s mate said.

The tester is a trained professional who does this for a living. He’ll know what the correct observation for the correct situation looks like and he’ll know when a rider adding in extra exaggerated observations. And he’ll mark you accordingly.

On the motorcycle pretest we’ll go through the test process in detail. We’ll give you a good overview of the questions most like to be asked and take you for a ride around the most common routes the testers use. During the ride we’ll give you solid feedback on the areas you need to improve to pass you test.

We won’t bring you back for lots of lessons if we don’t feel it’s necessary and we will tell you if we think you should defer if we feel that you’re too far off standard.

We’ll also go over you paperwork requirements for the test including you vehicle registration document to ensure that everything in in order. We’ll also give your bike a visual inspection and highlight any problems we spot. Tests are regularly cancelled due to incorrect paperwork or defects on the motorcycle.

Ideally you should take a motorcycle pretest lesson a few days before your test date. This gives you enough time to practice and correct any problems that we find. Some riders take a second lesson closer to the test date if they feel they could benefit from it.

At the end of the pretest lesson we’ll advice you any problems that are still present in you riding and make suggestions on how to resolve them.
